Dr. Michael Minars
Born in Hollywood, Dr. Michael Minars grew up just one mile from his office, attending Stirling Elementary, Attucks Middle, and Hollywood Hills High School. His undergraduate work was completed at the University of Michigan. From there, he returned to his home state for dental school, at the University of Florida, where he earned his Doctor of Dental Medicine. There his talent and hard work
as an orthodontist in Florida were recognized when he graduated as valedictorian.
Dr. Minars is the third doctor in the family to be practicing in Hollywood. His father and brother are just down the street at Minars Dermatology. Family values and home life are great assets which Dr. Minars brings to his practice. He has known his wife, Jessica, since the third grade. They have been married since 1998. Together, they have 3 children: Cameron, Chloe, and Parker.
Maintaining state-of-the-art equipment and advanced skills in orthodontist techniques are directly related to the time and intensity which Dr.Minars participates in continuing education and related association meeting.

Dr. Minars work has been recognized nationally with publication of “Predicting Skeletal Maturation Using Cervical Vertebrae,” in Today’s F.D.A., October 2003. When Dr. Minars is not creating beautiful smile, or spending time with his family, he is usually enjoying his other passion…water sports. Surfing, wake boarding, and kite boarding can keep him in the water for hours. Some of his “toys” can be seen hanging on the office walls.
Sonia
Office Manager
Sonia has been in the field of Orthodontics for over 17 years. She is the proud mother of her daughter Amy. She knows all aspects of orthodontics. When she is not busy as an office manager, you may see her helping out in the back because she is a great assistant.
Maria Luisa
Clinical Coordinator
Maria Luisa, originally from Honduras, is our favorite chair side assistant! She likes tennis, singing, guitar, and writing poems.
Carina
Orthodontic Assistant
Carina, originally from Argentina, is our newest assistant. She began working with us in July 2008 and is a certified dental and x-ray assistant. She currently lives in Hollywood with her husband and dog, Simon. In the office, she can be found in the clinical area, along with Mawi, assisting Dr. Minars.
Amy
Orthodontic Assistant
Amy, Sonia’s daughter, has been working with us since 2005, but has been part of the office since she was much younger. She currently attends Nova Southeastern University with a major in humanities. When she is not in school, she helps out not only at the front desk, but also in the back as an assistant.
Melissa
Public Relations Coordinator
Melissa joined the team in May 2008 as public relations coordinator. She recently graduated from Nova Southeastern University with a major in business administration and is currently in the MBA program. She is usually in and out of the office handling internal and external marketing, as well as, helping out at the front desk.
